Description:
Support and maintenance of client's distributed environments, which is primarily IBM Websphere. The successful candidate should have a good track record in Websphere administration and supporting multiple distributed environments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Distributed application support in Websphere environment
- Communication with users to gather requirements and analyze/address issues
- Coordinate with team members.
Skill, Experience & General information Required:
- UNIX/LINUX with shell scripting
- Experience administering IBM Websphere on IBM Z Series Linux
- Experience with supporting production implementations of Websphere
- Experience with upgrading/migrating installations between Websphere instances
- Experience with configuring and deploying applications into the WAS environment.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills especially with JVM sizing in the environments.
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to Websphere configuration process
- Websphere certifications a plus
